Vanilla PB Shakeology

This is a recipe I threw together because I didn't have ANYTHING left for fruit to put in my shakeo!! Normally I will throw in a half a banana and create a Snickerdoodle shakeo, which is absolutely delicious, but I didn't have the ingredients. It was right after my workout so I really didn't want to go searching for a recipe so I decided to try it with JUST peanut butter and cinnamon! Ah was it YUMMY! So I just had to share it with you!

Vanilla PB Shakeo

1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology
2 tsp. peanut butter
1 tsp. cinnamon (I wing it and just shake some in!)
4 ice cubes
Water (8-12oz!)

***
As always you can adjust the water and ice according to your liking!

For a thicker shake, add more ice.

For a creamer shake, use 1/4 cup milk (almond, rice, coconut, regular). Then more milk you add the creamer it gets!

Snickerdoodles for LUNCH!

I'm a total chocolate lover. For months and months I only drank ONE recipe of the chocolate Shakeology. It was my absolute must have every single day, so when I started to get bored of it I was kind of in SHOCK and desperately wanted to find another GOOD recipe I could fall in love with.

So for the past two days I've had this Snickerdoodle recipe and let me tell you-- ITS AMAZING!! Its creamy and sweet just like my favorite chocolate recipe but its VANILLA! Yum and Yum!

I LOVE that it tastes like dessert but it acts like eating 7 salads!!

 Here's the recipe!

1 scoop vanilla shakeology
1/2 banana
2 tsp. peanut butter
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup water

Stop and Think

It's pictures like these that make me stop and think about how far I've come since I started this journey almost a year ago.

I've learned that--

* the negative comments about yourself are more detrimental than anything.

* confidence doesn't come from what size you are or aren't. It comes from accepting yourself and truly loving the person you are, inside and out.

*feeling happy and healthy are priceless.

*being around by 1 person who genuinely cares about you is better than being around 10 who have no clue who you are.

*exercising is the best stress reliever and mood booster ever

*good food= happy body

*healthy comes in different sizes

The picture on the left is of the 15 year old me. The picture on the right was taken today. The difference between these two pictures goes way deeper than just what you can see.

In high school and pretty much most of my adult life I struggled with my weight and how I looked. I would often compare myself to my peers and always ended up feeling worse about who I was. My confidence was at an all time low and I let negative thoughts about myself consume my life.

Now I feel happy and healthy. Im stronger both mentally and physically because of the things I've done over the past 11 months. I've found my confidence and now when those negative thoughts creep in I quickly hush them with positive affirmations. I am not ashamed of my body. I am proud of what I have been able to achieve after having three babies.

What happened that prompted this change? Beachbody. I can say without a doubt that through the support, accountability and love I've received I was able to pick myself up and better myself as a person. Inside and out I am changing and it's been an amazing journey.

Body over Mind-- Make it happen!

Your body can achieve SO much more than your mind gives it credit for.

Today was definitely a body over mind fight. My mind was telling me I had tons of chores to do. It was saying I could stop and no one would know. I didn't have to finish because my body is sore.

That was about their time I hushed those whispers and pushed harder. Don't let your mind give up before your body.

You will always have something else you could be doing. There will always be another load of laundry, dishes that need to be washed, a child that would prefer you sit on the couch with them. ALL of those things can wait for 30 minutes.

Remember WHY you are doing this. This is for YOU and no one, not even your mind, should take that away from you.

*SHAKEOLOGY SPOTLIGHT* --Kamut Grass

**Kamut Grass**

Kamut is a type of grain that is known for its sweet and nutty flavor. This grain has been around for centuries and used to be called “King Tuts Wheat”.  Although Kamut is closely related to wheat, it is far superior. Kamut is FULL of protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, lipids and complex carbohydrates making the nutritional value very high compared to other grains. Another major plus to this grain is that it is cholesterol FREE!!

One of the main health benefits of Kamut is that it is an excellent source of four minerals that greatly improve body function. Selenium and Manganese both function as antioxidants that protect against genetic mutations and cell membrane damage caused by free radicals. They also contribute to balancing your body’s hormones.  The last two minerals found in considerable amounts are Magnesium and Zinc. Meganesium strengths bone tissue and activates certain enzymes that your cells need to function. Zinc promotes healthy thyroid function as well as boosts your immune system.

Perhaps one of the best parts of Kamut Grass is that studies have shown it to be less allergenic than wheat. Generally people who suffer from a wheat allergy do just fine with Kamut making it a healthier and safer grain! Isn’t that AWESOME!!

Kamut grass has so many health benefits that it’s no wonder it is a part of Shakeology’s line up!!

Pumpkin Spice Shakeology!

October starts tomorrow and let me tell you, I AM SO EXCITED! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love dressing up, the spooky decorations and the crisp fall air that comes with this time of year.

Here is a blast from the past...

Along with the excitement of the holidays and the changing of the seasons is that temptations are greatly increased when it comes to FOOD!

I don't know about you about I love the Fall comfort foods. Hot chocolate, apple pie, cranberry bread, pumpkin pie... need I go on? Perhaps on of my favorite tastes of the season is pumpkin spice. I pretty much go pumpkin over load when Fall hits. Anything I can make pumpkin, I'm going for it. I even have a pumpkin roll Sentsy bar for my warmer.

SOOOO I was on the hunt for a pumpkin spice Shakeology recipe because I had to find a way to turn my favorite meal of the day into my favorite Fall comfort food. Here is what I found!

A Honey Pumpkin Spice Shakeology and not only will it give you that wonderful pumpkin taste but it will give your body a dose of dense nutrition that will help keep you fuller longer, cut your cravings down, and help you lose weight!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?!

Sacha Inchi

Shakeology Spotlight

Have you ever wondered what is in Shakeology? Well today we are going to take a deeper look at ONE of the 70 super foods in Shakeology.

*Sacha Inchi*

This is a nut found in the Amazon Rainforest on the eastern slope of the lower Andes and it has been cultivated there for around 3,000 years!!

This nut is high in omega 3 fatty acids, omega 6 and 9 acids and protein. One of the special things about this nut is that is easily digested so your body can utilize all of the nutrients easier without causing gas or irritation. The Sacha Inchi has far more omega 3 fatty acids than olive, soy, sunflower OR flax seeds!! That is pretty amazing!!

Health Benefits:
✔️Improves your cardiovascular health
✔️ Helps to lower cholesterol levels
✔️Boosts brain function
✔️ Eases joint Stiffness
✔️ Helps maintain healthy glucose levels
✔️Supports skin and hair
✔️Relieves inflammation throughout body
✔️Supports eye and optimal vision

The health benefits of the Sacha Inchi nut is amazing! It has definitely proved to be an asset to the Shakeology super foods line up!
