My Rollercoaster

I've struggled my entire life to feel happy with my body. I have rollercoastered from gaining 20+ pounds my freshmen year, to adding an additional 30lbs from pregnancy, to dropping from a size 14 down to size 2 dress for my wedding in 2010. From there I got pregnant two more times with more gaining and losing weight. As a result of all of that, my self esteem constantly at an all time low and I felt miserable.
.
The only time I felt happy was when I was at my thinnest and to be honest, I wasn't healthy. The things I was doing were probably more harmful than good and it the weight loss didn't last for very long.
.
One moment always sticks out to me-- I was in the dressing room, looking for a bathing suit for our family trip to Florida and literally wanting to cry. I didn't want anyone to see me and I just felt so depressed about the way I looked and felt.
.
Fast forward-- Insert Beachbody-- and I've STEPPED OFF that rollercoaster.
.
In 2014, I finally found a plan that worked for me and my family. It was simple, easy to follow, and gave me complete directions on how to eat healthy and in the correct portions without breaking my budget or having to make separate meals just for me. I didn't have to count calories or worry about cutting out food groups. This was a real life, nutrition plan that changed my lifestyle for the better.
.
As I started to exercise, I found it was therapeutic in that it helped me feel stronger and happier than I ever experienced before. It was relieving my stress and giving me something for ME. I could feel the changes starting to happen and I was only spending 30 minutes a day working out with little to no equipment.
.
Now that I have been through the trials of figuring this all out, I want to share it with others who suffer from the same things I went through. I'm not saying I'm perfectly happy or that its a magical cure, I'm a work in progress but I can say that I'm finally proud of who I am becoming. I feel healthy, strong and loving the long term results I'm building -- I want that for others.--
.
My February group starts soon and I'm inviting you. If you have dealt with anything like I have, this is perfect for you. Shoot me a message and we can chat about the details.
.

**TRANSFORMATION THURSDAY**

Hmm WHAT!?

My 73 year old grandmother can do burpees!?

Yep, you read that correctly. I am so proud of my Grandmother for staying as active as she does!

When I first joined Beachbody, I never really imagined that she would want in but I was wrong!

About a year ago she started drinking Shakeology because she saw the value. It even allowed her to save money because it had many of the suppliments she was already taking. Once she started, she got her husband hooked and now both of them enjoy a shake every day! A little while later she started using the 21 Day Fix portion controlled containers and workouts. She loved them because she didn't have to go to the gym OR have any equipment. Now she has added PiYo into her workout route and is loving the change between the two programs! She has been consistently kicking butt and obviously its paid off BIG TIME!!!

So if my 73 year old grandmother can do it- SO CAN YOU!!

What are you waiting for!? I have 3 spots open in my Post Thanksgiving Holiday Hustle group! Let's get you started on feeling healthy and happy for the New Year!

How do you feel...

Bikini weather is here!

One of the things I used to struggle with was feeling confident and happy in a bikini. Once I had kids I thought I'd never be able to wear one again! But I'm happy to say that I'm back in a bikini and comfortable with what I see. And that makes the world of difference!!
I can help you too-- feel comfortable in a bathing suit again--

So I'm putting together a Bikini Boot Camp group! It's only 30 days long and I'll teach you how to get the results YOU want and how to maintain them!! I'll share how I overcame my struggles of working out at home with kids running around, staying focused during exercising, eating better and getting the family to follow suit. It's a simple, easy and effective plan to get you on track!

No dieting.
30 minute workouts.
Meal portioned containers.
Simple meal plans.
1:1 support

Its Just a Number.

Something pretty crazy happened this morning and I am hesitant to share this with you BUT I feel I should be honest and open about my struggles.

I was making breakfast and my hubby noticed a specific body part was getting bigger (I'll leave out which one) and I said "yeah, I've gained 5 pounds. Hopefully it's all muscle"

After that he immediately knew I wasn't feeling awesome about it. I don't even know why I was upset about it but nonetheless it has been in the back of my mind ever since I noticed it. (I only weigh myself every week to two weeks)

The truth is that I feel healthier than I ever have so why care about what the scale says!?

Before ChaLEAN Extreme I could barely do two push-ups on my toes. NOW I can do 6 on my toes, chest all the way to the ground. I also can run 11 miles without stopping.

^^^THAT is the real test of fitness. Your strength! Not the number on the scale. ^^^

I never thought I'd be the person to really care about what the scale says, in fact I preach NOT to care about it and solely focus on how you feel physically and mentally. So I'm taking my own advice and throwing out society pressures of having to be a certain size and concentrating on ME and how I FEEL. I will not let a stupid number on the scale tell me how I should feel about my body.

Since I started this journey my goals have always been and will always  be to be healthier, happier and stronger than ever before.

****TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY****

The best messages I will ever receive are those from my challengers telling me how good they feel and the results they got from joining my challenge group.

This beautiful woman isn't ready to show her before and after pictures BUT her measurements are AMAZING and tell a story all their own!!
...
In 21 days she shed 10 1/2 inches from her body!!
To hear that she is feeling better, less bloated and has decreased pain in areas that used to bother her is priceless!!!

These challenge groups are changing people's lives. This is why I LOVE my job!

Change Your Mindset; Change Your World

I can remember first signing on as a coach a little over a year ago, seeing all the top coaches and thinking that I could never make it. I said I wanted to but my mind never truly believed it. All the fear and doubt kept swirling around in my head which created this huge road block in my business. I had my fair share of ups and downs and learned what it felt like to regret not going after what I really wanted. It was truly heartbreaking. So at the beginning of this year, in J...anuary, I decided enough was enough. I refused to let my fear of failure hold me back. I set huge goals and dove in.
*
Since then I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone and worked hard towards my goals. And you want to know what? I've met my goals ever since. It was my mindset I needed to change. I needed to BELIEVE that I could do it. I needed to throw my hands up and say "WHY NOT ME?" and just go for it without over thinking it.
*
Beachbody has helped me in so many other ways than just my physical transformation. I am stronger mentally and I feel confident in myself and my abilities to be a mother, wife, friend, and a coach. This little business I started has allowed me to fully pay for BOTH of my student loans each month. I can also buy groceries and not worry about going over budget because I know my Beachbody money is there. It FEELS amazing to be able to PAY for my debt again. Each month my income grows and that's not even the best part. The best part is the people I get to work with everyday. They are what make it enjoyable and FUN.
*
So why I am telling you this? I know what it feels like to have no confidence or purpose in life. I know how draining motherhood can be when you feel depressed. I know how financial struggles can put a pit in your stomach so huge it feels like you're going to throw up. I've been there and I want to do everything in my power to help you get out of that vicious cycle.
*
I am looking to mentor 5 women this month who want to run their own business and finally have CONTROL over their future. I will teach you everything you need to know and guide you through. Together, we will create a team and TOGETHER we will succeed. You don't need to be a nutritionist or have any fitness background. We are accountability coaches who support, motivate and teach others the things we have learned through our own life experiences.
*
To be considered for one of the five spots please fill out this form and I'll be in touch!

11 Ways to Boost Your Confidence

Confidence has always been a struggle for me. I had such a low self esteem that it ruined relationships and even stunted my growth because I believed I wasn't good enough. I've got news for you. YOU are good enough! You are beautiful on the inside and out. Now it's just time to BELIEVE it! Here are some ways you can boost your confidence...

1. List Positive Things About Yourself
Write down at least 10 things you like about your body and who you are. This could include your eyes, the silver streak in your hair, your strong calves, your kindness, or your sense of humor. Then take a picture of the list with your phone and save it so you every time you’re feeling not so hot, you can take a look at it.

2. Focus on Your Progress
When it comes to your body, focusing on what you think is a problem area is just going to make you feel worse. Once you’ve acknowledged what you want to work on, focus on your progress and celebrate your accomplishments!

3. Stop listening to the Negative Comments.
When you start to feel better about yourself, some people around you might not be comfortable with your new attitude (or look) and they could start to get a little…mean. If these people are meaningful to you, we don’t recommend dismissing them out of your life entirely, but if you can, try to distance yourself from them or chat with them about why they need to stop.

4. …And Find People Who Motivate You
There are so many people out there who are inspirational. Follow them on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, whereever! Feed off their positivity and let them motivate you. You probably even have some positive people in your life, get out there and spend more time with them!

5. Move
If you’re finding yourself heading towards an emotional ditch, get moving. Go for a walk, Press Play on a Beachbody workout, just move. Doing so will help the endorphins kick in and help your brain get back on the right path.

6. Wear Clothes That Accentuate Your Shape
Wearing baggy clothes can make you look bigger than you are. Instead, dress in ways that flatter your body type using these tips. And, ladies, make sure to get a bra that fits properly. An ill-fitting bra can make even the best outfit look less than stellar.

7. Talk to Yourself- NICELY!
This one might feel a little weird, but especially if you’ve been engaging in negative self-talk (“My love handles are huge,” “I hate my hair,” “I don’t like my legs,” etc.) it’s important. The next time you look in the mirror, I want you to say (or at least think) something positive about your body or your features. Can’t think of anything positive? Fake it until you make it. Even though it doesn’t feel genuine, forcing yourself to be positive will get your brain moving in a healthier direction.

8. Pamper Yourself
Do something kind for your body. My go-to is a long, hot bubble bath. But you could enjoy a massage (which after all the working out you’ve been doing is going to feel incredible), try a new haircut, or get a manicure. By taking some time for you, and doing something that makes you feel physically great, it’ll help you’ll feel emotionally great too.

9. Help Others
One way to take the focus and pressure off of you is by helping others. Volunteering or helping a friend in need feels good and helps you connect with others in your community or with those you care about.

10. Smile
Not only does smiling look good on the outside, it actually releases endorphins that make you feel good on the inside. Plus you will look so much more attractive and kind to strangers!  So SMILE-- a lot!

11. Accept a Compliment
When someone gives you a compliment, receive it graciously. Responding to a compliment with something self-deprecating is not only negative, it also strips the joy away from the person giving it to you. Accept the love you’re getting. You deserve it.

If you implement some of these tips into your everyday life soon you will begin to see the difference in your confidence and self imagine. We are the worst critic to our bodies. Don't let yourself stand in the way, or anyone else for that matter.

What do you stand for?

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for everything.

This couldn't be more true in all aspects of life. Being successful at whatever profession you are doing takes hard work and dedication. It takes knowing your WHY and having it so deeply rooted in your heart and soul that nothing can take you away from it. Not your excuses, not the hard times, not the criticisms. Nothing can rip you from your goals because you stand for something bigger.

Today I ran the farthest I've ever run alone by far. For the longest time I believed I couldn't. I believed I needed someone to be there next to me pushing me, but today, I discovered that I don't NEED it. When it comes down to it, I need to be able to do it myself and today I did.

The same goes for your business or career. Don't rely on someone else to push you, to motivate you. Yes, it's good to surround yourself with mentors and leaders. However, it all comes down to YOU and how deeply YOU want it. They can dont it for you.

Don't be scared to try something new, don't let fear hold you back. Find your wings on the way down and FLY.

Stand for something greater than those fears, and the excuses and everything else that stands in your way. Stand for yourself and have a believe so strong that nothing can shake it.

Don't be Afraid.

Don't be afraid to start where you are. Don't be scared to take your before photos. It's these photos that will show you how far you have come. Someday, you will look back and not even recognize the other person in the photo. You will have changed for the better. You will be healthier: mind, body and spirit. It's good to see where you have come from.

I was there too. I know what it's like to feel uncomfortable in your own skin. I know that gut wrenching feeling as you walk into your closet dreading trying to find an outfit because you know nothing fits right. In the end, you throw on a sweatshirt which even further drives your shame in your body into your heart. I know how it feels to cross your arms over your belly or grab a pillow or your purse to hide it.

I want you to know that your future is 100% in your hands. Beyond all the excuses and fear is a strong, confident woman struggling to get out. It's time to make a change and let her out. As your coach I want you to know whole heartedly that YOU deserve to feel your best everyday.

Are you ready? I want to help. Email me at jaclyncrowellfitness@gmail.com I'm here for you and will be for as long as you need. If you are in 100% in, so am I. 💕

Stop and Think

It's pictures like these that make me stop and think about how far I've come since I started this journey almost a year ago.

I've learned that--

* the negative comments about yourself are more detrimental than anything.

* confidence doesn't come from what size you are or aren't. It comes from accepting yourself and truly loving the person you are, inside and out.

*feeling happy and healthy are priceless.

*being around by 1 person who genuinely cares about you is better than being around 10 who have no clue who you are.

*exercising is the best stress reliever and mood booster ever

*good food= happy body

*healthy comes in different sizes

The picture on the left is of the 15 year old me. The picture on the right was taken today. The difference between these two pictures goes way deeper than just what you can see.

In high school and pretty much most of my adult life I struggled with my weight and how I looked. I would often compare myself to my peers and always ended up feeling worse about who I was. My confidence was at an all time low and I let negative thoughts about myself consume my life.

Now I feel happy and healthy. Im stronger both mentally and physically because of the things I've done over the past 11 months. I've found my confidence and now when those negative thoughts creep in I quickly hush them with positive affirmations. I am not ashamed of my body. I am proud of what I have been able to achieve after having three babies.

What happened that prompted this change? Beachbody. I can say without a doubt that through the support, accountability and love I've received I was able to pick myself up and better myself as a person. Inside and out I am changing and it's been an amazing journey.

Max 30 Transformation!

Forgive me, please!? This post is WAY late but better than never right!?

Alright let's chat about Max 30. As you probably already know, or if you don't-now you do, my journey with Beachhbody started with Shaun T's Focus T25. I LOVED this program. So when Mr. T put out another program boosting 30 minute workouts, I was all about trying it. I definitely love Shaun's style and his videos are always challenging and motivating. Max 30 here I come as I anxiously purchased my copy...

I started Max 30 on January 13th and ended March 1st (you see now why I said this post is SO late 😳).

Anyways, I did one 30 day round of the Max 30. It consisted of 5 workouts on a set schedule with Saturday and Sunday being rest days. To put it lightly, this program kicked my behind daily! Unlike T25 you do get mini breaks but believe me, you NEED them. The program uses a measuring system called your Max Out time. This is where you write down when you have to stop following along. The goal is the up your time each week.

In the workouts you are going all out. Hardcore cardio, using your body to lift and work your muscles. It may not sound like much but after doing burpees or pushups, you will understand why it works! This program uses a tabata style of working out which is high intensity movement for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds. You can do anything for 20 seconds they said, its just 20 seconds they said. Well those 20 second intervals where killer and totally upped my fitness game.

Not only are the workouts awesome, but the nutrition plan is even better! This program uses the 21 Day Fix plan so you have exact measurements on how much one serving is. The nutrition guide lays out how to go about figuring out what bracket you fall in. This gives you how many servings per food group you need daily making counting calories non existent and staying on track much easier. In the nutrition book there are tons of recipes and sample meal plans as well. It seriously can't get any easier.

My Results:

When I began Max 30 I was looking to tone up and increase my endurance for my runs. Throughout the program I noticed that my Max Out time kept climbing. I was no where near being able to complete the entire video without stopping but I was going longer each time. I also noticed that my runs got easier and faster. Big win for me there!!

Max 30 definitely helped me tone my mid section and legs! I lost 1/2 an inch off my waist, 1 inch off my hips and a 1/2 an inch of each of my thighs.

Max 30 is definitely a program to use when you want to tone, lose weight and even increase endurance for other activities. I used it to help me train for my 1/2 marathon and it delivered!

Thinking maybe this program would be right for you!? Drop your email below or message me and we can chat! Id love to help you with your health and fitness goals!!

Beachbody Training!

Rise and SHINE

☀️8 miles @ 10:16 pace☀️

I love my Saturday morning runs/ catch up sessions with my girl, Amanda. It was around mile 3.5 when I finally noticed how far we had gone. That is amazing!

I am seriously in awe of how much my body has changed in the past 6 months. I could barely run a 5K at the Turkey Trot. I felt like I was DYING as I crossed the finish line. Now I feel great come mile 3 and even though I'm tired at the end, in this case mile 8, I still don't have crazy aches and pains nor do I have that "holy cow I'm going to collapse and die right here" feeling.

What has happened in the last 6-8 months? Beachbody happened. I would be stupid to think that they didn't play a HUGE roll in my health and fitness. At home workouts trained and are continuing to train me for my running goals. Just 25 or 30 minutes a day is ALL I spent each day. I ran twice a week only until just this past week.

It's incredible that Beachbody's home workouts are that effective in just 30 minutes per day but, hey, my company is awesome so it's no surprise.

Progress not Perfection.

I always tell my challengers you will have bumps in the road, you won't be perfect. What matters is that you are progressing. What matters is that you are trying your best, working hard, staying dedicated and embracing the journey.

This is MY progression. I have worked hard and stayed focused on my goal because that is what I truly want. I'm not trying to be perfect. I'm trying to be better than I was before. Now I am happier, more confident and feel better than I EVER did, even before my pregnancies.

💙 I made the choice to push myself everyday. To put one foot in front of the other and go for it regardless if I was "perfect" or not.

💙 I wanted to feel better about myself because in order for me to be a good mom and wife, I had to put myself first.

💙 I started reading personal development books even though people around me thought they were pointless. They helped me just as much a exercising. I'm stronger because of them.

💙 I decided to be an advocate. I wanted to share my journey with the hopes it would help inspire others. I decided to ASK other women if they wanted the help and support I know I needed and wished someone had reached out to me.

This is my progression. Mind, body and soul I have changed leaps and bounds from where I was a year ago.

This life is YOUR CHOICE. You get to choose what to do from here. No one can stop you once you put your mind to it. Don't worry if you aren't perfect, no one is, YOU are enough right now to start your journey.

💙I'll be here for you when you need someone to help support you. This is what I love and Id love to help you on your journey. Feel free to message me💙

Remember it all starts by taking that first step. Don't worry about tomorrow- only today.

#TransformationTUESDAY

Today I am saying GOODBYE to my old mom butt!

Yes I know-- kinda weird to be talking about in public but UGH! I hated having absolutely no butt. It was like I lost weight in all the places Id like to keep a little cushion! Anyways it wasn't until I started Max 30 and running longer distances that I felt like I was starting to build some muscle back there.

One step at a time, one workout, one run-- I am changing for the better :)

Want to join in on my next challenge group!? Message me or drop your email below :)

My Transformation

Today really got me thinking about my journey with my health. Today I feel healthier than I EVER have in my entire life but why?

Let's go back...

2008- My diet consisted of junk food on top of junk food. Coffees with mainly creamer and sugar, bagels, pizza, ice cream, McDonalds, and alcohol. Lots of alcohol. I ate at 3am after a night of drinking, slept and continued the same routine day in and day out. I gained over 25 pounds in just 6 months because of that. There were random times when I would stop eating and just drink coffee to lose weight. As you can imagine that made me feel awful and made me keep the fat instead of losing it. I wasn't healthy OR treating my body or mind right.

2012- This was after my second child. I wasn't eating awesome and never watched my portions. Dunkin' Donuts was a part of my everyday which included donuts and high sugar ice coffees. I always felt tired and worn out. I felt like I could sleep for days and myself esteem was at an all time low.

TODAY- To say that I feel healthier than I ever have is an understatement. My body, mind and soul feel healthy and strong. Now I eat clean and follow the correct portions for my body. I am never starving nor do I feel like I am deprived of certain things. I live my life by an 80/20 rule. 80 percent of the time I eat clean- the other 20 percent I eat whatever I want. That means if I want a burger with cheese and a sweet tea- I'm going to have it and I don't feel guilty about it. My self confidence is so much higher than it has ever been and I finally feel comfortable in my own skin. I workout everyday for ME, to get stronger- not to lose any weight. I do it to clear my mind and let off some steam. I love it. This is the life I was supposed to live and I couldn't be happier.

In the end isn't that all that matters? To feel comfortable, happy and confident in your own skin? My mind and body are finally healthy and it's my mission to help other women achieve the same thing.

Focus T25

Focus T25

T25 and I have a very special relationship. This was the program I started and fell in love with. The workouts are simple and incredibly short (25 minutes) which is perfect for busy moms like myself. Shaun T really does his best to keep you motivated and pushing throughout the entire workout. Plus he explains the technique you should be using -- super important if you are new to the workout world. As an added benefit there is a modifier for every move to make it low impact if you need it.

The Program:
T25 is broken down into two rounds. The first round is the Alpha stage. This is your foundation. It builds your endurance so you can graduate onto the next round of the program. Throughout the first round you mainly focus on cardio.
The second round is the Beta stage. This builds on the foundation you achieved in the first round to give you more power and strength to make it through these workouts. This round is no joke. Its much faster paced and you use weights during some of the workouts. Believe me, if you try for 25 minutes and stay on schedule, there is no way you won't see results.
--Most Utilized Exercises Used:
Burpees
Pushups
Jabs
Squats
Lunges
High knees
and many, many more. I promise you will not get bored!

My Results:

During this workout I noticed that my
arms started to become stronger
and some muscle actually started
popping out! My arms have always been
pretty small and weak so to see this
much muscle is pretty awesome!

I never really noticed how little of muscle
my back had until I took a look
at this before and after picture.
Let me tell you, T25 definitely pumped
up my back! I love the recipes I got with
program!

3 Day Refresh Review

3 Day Refresh Review

When the 3 Day Refresh came out, I was so excited to try it! Not because I really needed to lose any weight but because I felt yucky. You know that feeling. Weighed down and bloated what seemed like all the time. It wasn't my idea of feeling healthy. I had stuck to a pretty clean eating diet but for a few days before the Refresh I had definitely taken a tumble off the bandwagon and needed help. This was my answer!
Day One:

Day one went pretty well! I wasn't starving all day like I had anticipated so that was a HUGE plus in my book! It was nice being able to actually eat food and not just liquid. My morning started off with a tall glass of water followed by a Shakeology. Pretty normal routine for me. I didn't put the usual almond milk in my Shakeology so that was a bit different but I still liked the flavor with just water.

Okay so I'm going to keep it real with you guys.... there were some things that royally sucked about day one. First, I missed my creamer in my coffee. It was probably the hardest thing about day one. I am NOT a black coffee girl. I like my coffee with So Delicious Coconut Milk Creamer and lets just say I wasn't too thrilled without it. I also had some serious cravings (carbs and chocolate)! It also made me realize how much I pick at food all day and that I need to tighten up on my meal planning.

Overall day one really wasn't too awful. I knew what I was getting myself into and I fought the cravings. It was a very eye opening experience because now I will know what to look for in the future!

Day Two:

The start of day two I was feeling great. I had woken up that morning feeling rejuvenated and the weighed down feeling had started to lift a tiny bit. Here is a picture of me enjoying my chocolate Shakeology breakfast with 1/2 a banana and 10 ounces of water! YUM!!

During the day I noticed less cravings and it was much easier to stick to the Refresh eating plan. I didn't feel like I was missing anything PLUS the dinner recipe I made from the program was delicious! I still use it to this day as a side!

Day Three:

This was the BEST day of the Refresh. My body had adjusted to the eating plan and was starting to really feel great. I no longer felt weighed down or bloated. My stomach was noticeably flatted from when I started and I was actually loving the simplicity of the meal plan.

My RESULTS!

First let me tell you, I really loved the Refresh! It definitely put me back on the right track for clean eating. I noticed how much I love to snack and pick at foods all day. Having the Refresh schedule your eating to every 1-2 hours really helped me to control it and up my water intake. By the third day it was easy to follow the schedule and I didn't feel starved or hungry either. One major plus of the Refresh is that you do actually get food so it is NOT an all liquid diet.

Like I said previously before the Refresh I felt so bloated and weighed down. This was the main reason for me wanting to do it. I started out with my stomach puffed out and feeling really yucky. About the second day I started to feel better and noticed a huge change in how my stomach looked and felt. This continued until the end.

Even though the scale did say I lost 2-3 pounds, I am most excited about how I feel after the Refresh. It has kicked started my journey to a stricter clean eating lifestyle and I am so pleased with how good I feel.
