Monday Motivation

For hitting my January biz goals I was able to attend a live webinar with Jen Sincero, the author of You are a Badass!
.
She speaks my language when it comes to self love. Absolutely love her book!
.
Anyways, one thing that caught my attention was when she was talking about your mindset and how vital it is to your success. I've heard this many times before but it's so TRUE!!
.
You can't be happy if you are focused on the negative.
.
You can't succeed if you are focused on the fact that you may fail.
.
Stop the negative and turn up the positive vibes! Your mind is a powerful tool, use it!

Monday Motivation! Get UP and DO IT!

Sometimes there is just no sugar coating it...

It just sucks to get out of your warm comfy bed while everyone else in the house is sleeping. BUT waking up a tiny bit earlier, like 30 minutes, to work your body will do AMAZING things for you!!
.
Not only will get you get your workout in and out of the way, you will feel more energize and motivated throughout the rest of the day! PLUS exercise makes you feel healthier, making those sugary treats look less appetizing because you don't want to ruin all your hard work.
.
Now tell me that isn't doable! If I can do it, SO CAN YOU!!

9 Tips For Staying Motivated to Workout!

Need some motivation?! Lacking the WANT to exercise? Well todays “TIP OF THE DAY” will give you 9 tips on staying motivated to exercise.

"Everyone knows that exercise is a KEY element to good health. The trick is keeping yourself motivated to exercise, if you’re a person who naturally relapses into the couch-potato pose.

It took me years of prodding, but I’ve finally managed to turn myself into a dedicated exerciser. I never push myself very hard (at all), but I do manage to stick with a routine.

Personally, I find it more motivating to think about short-term gratification like “I’ll sleep better” than long-term considerations like “I’ll live longer” or “If I have surgery, I’ll recover quicker.”

Here are some things to keep in mind, if you’re trying to keep yourself motivated to exercise:

1. Exercise boosts energy. It took me a long time to notice that I’d drag myself to the gym, work out for forty minutes, and leave feeling far more energetic than when I went in.

2. Exercise provides an outlet for feelings of pent-up hostility, irritation, and anger. I always find that I’m far calmer and more forbearing on days when I’ve exercised. I have a jittery, high-strung nature, and exercising takes the edge off.

3. Repetitive, rhythmic motion of exercises like walking and running brings a serene mood and clarifies thinking. I’ve had all my best writing ideas when walking or running, and sometimes assign myself a particular problem to think over during a walk.

4. Sticking to an exercise regime raises your self-esteem for the very fact that you’re sticking to an exercise regime.

5. Exercise offers a chance to be alone and uninterrupted—a relief if, like me, you’re often surrounded by distractions. Or, if you prefer, exercise also offers a chance to get together with other people–a relief if, like me, you spend a lot of time working alone. I have both kinds of exercise during my week.

6. Regular exercise helps to keep your body chemicals in balance. When you experience stress, your body prepares for “fight or flight” with a huge number of biochemical reactions. A stressful event these days, however, is more likely to require a phone call than a sprint uphill. The potentially damaging byproducts of the stress response, such as cortisol, nevertheless continue to pump through the body, and exercise helps offset that effect.

7. Exercise helps you fall asleep more easily and sleep more deeply. The Big Man really notices this in himself.

8. Pure vanity can be a good motivator. Remember that people who exercise move more easily and energetically, and appear more youthful.

9. When I don’t feel like exercising, I remind myself how lucky I am to be able to move easily and without pain—no wheelchair, no crutches, no brace, no trick knee or bad back."

What do you stand for?

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for everything.

This couldn't be more true in all aspects of life. Being successful at whatever profession you are doing takes hard work and dedication. It takes knowing your WHY and having it so deeply rooted in your heart and soul that nothing can take you away from it. Not your excuses, not the hard times, not the criticisms. Nothing can rip you from your goals because you stand for something bigger.

Today I ran the farthest I've ever run alone by far. For the longest time I believed I couldn't. I believed I needed someone to be there next to me pushing me, but today, I discovered that I don't NEED it. When it comes down to it, I need to be able to do it myself and today I did.

The same goes for your business or career. Don't rely on someone else to push you, to motivate you. Yes, it's good to surround yourself with mentors and leaders. However, it all comes down to YOU and how deeply YOU want it. They can dont it for you.

Don't be scared to try something new, don't let fear hold you back. Find your wings on the way down and FLY.

Stand for something greater than those fears, and the excuses and everything else that stands in your way. Stand for yourself and have a believe so strong that nothing can shake it.

Don't be Afraid.

Don't be afraid to start where you are. Don't be scared to take your before photos. It's these photos that will show you how far you have come. Someday, you will look back and not even recognize the other person in the photo. You will have changed for the better. You will be healthier: mind, body and spirit. It's good to see where you have come from.

I was there too. I know what it's like to feel uncomfortable in your own skin. I know that gut wrenching feeling as you walk into your closet dreading trying to find an outfit because you know nothing fits right. In the end, you throw on a sweatshirt which even further drives your shame in your body into your heart. I know how it feels to cross your arms over your belly or grab a pillow or your purse to hide it.

I want you to know that your future is 100% in your hands. Beyond all the excuses and fear is a strong, confident woman struggling to get out. It's time to make a change and let her out. As your coach I want you to know whole heartedly that YOU deserve to feel your best everyday.

Are you ready? I want to help. Email me at jaclyncrowellfitness@gmail.com I'm here for you and will be for as long as you need. If you are in 100% in, so am I. 💕

Stop and Think

It's pictures like these that make me stop and think about how far I've come since I started this journey almost a year ago.

I've learned that--

* the negative comments about yourself are more detrimental than anything.

* confidence doesn't come from what size you are or aren't. It comes from accepting yourself and truly loving the person you are, inside and out.

*feeling happy and healthy are priceless.

*being around by 1 person who genuinely cares about you is better than being around 10 who have no clue who you are.

*exercising is the best stress reliever and mood booster ever

*good food= happy body

*healthy comes in different sizes

The picture on the left is of the 15 year old me. The picture on the right was taken today. The difference between these two pictures goes way deeper than just what you can see.

In high school and pretty much most of my adult life I struggled with my weight and how I looked. I would often compare myself to my peers and always ended up feeling worse about who I was. My confidence was at an all time low and I let negative thoughts about myself consume my life.

Now I feel happy and healthy. Im stronger both mentally and physically because of the things I've done over the past 11 months. I've found my confidence and now when those negative thoughts creep in I quickly hush them with positive affirmations. I am not ashamed of my body. I am proud of what I have been able to achieve after having three babies.

What happened that prompted this change? Beachbody. I can say without a doubt that through the support, accountability and love I've received I was able to pick myself up and better myself as a person. Inside and out I am changing and it's been an amazing journey.

My motivation.

It was about 10 minutes in when all I wanted to do was quit. I have about a million other things I could be doing. My mind was so clouded that I was inches away from giving up and calling it quits.

But something stopped me. My WHY stopped me. It gave me power when I thought I had none. My WHY is stronger than all my excuses and allows me to push though those doubts.

My advice- Find your WHY and remind yourself daily of it.  Pull from it when you are ready to give up and make it stronger than your excuses.

Progress not Perfection.

I always tell my challengers you will have bumps in the road, you won't be perfect. What matters is that you are progressing. What matters is that you are trying your best, working hard, staying dedicated and embracing the journey.

This is MY progression. I have worked hard and stayed focused on my goal because that is what I truly want. I'm not trying to be perfect. I'm trying to be better than I was before. Now I am happier, more confident and feel better than I EVER did, even before my pregnancies.

💙 I made the choice to push myself everyday. To put one foot in front of the other and go for it regardless if I was "perfect" or not.

💙 I wanted to feel better about myself because in order for me to be a good mom and wife, I had to put myself first.

💙 I started reading personal development books even though people around me thought they were pointless. They helped me just as much a exercising. I'm stronger because of them.

💙 I decided to be an advocate. I wanted to share my journey with the hopes it would help inspire others. I decided to ASK other women if they wanted the help and support I know I needed and wished someone had reached out to me.

This is my progression. Mind, body and soul I have changed leaps and bounds from where I was a year ago.

This life is YOUR CHOICE. You get to choose what to do from here. No one can stop you once you put your mind to it. Don't worry if you aren't perfect, no one is, YOU are enough right now to start your journey.

💙I'll be here for you when you need someone to help support you. This is what I love and Id love to help you on your journey. Feel free to message me💙

Remember it all starts by taking that first step. Don't worry about tomorrow- only today.

Why do I workout?

There are so many reasons why I love to workout. It is a miracle I didn't start exercising earlier in my life. I never saw it as a priority or that I really needed it. Now I know I was wrong.

Here are a few things it does for me...

Working out gives me freedom from all the stressors in my life.

Working out gives me time for myself, to grow stronger mentally and physically.

Working out makes me happy.

Those are my main reasonings why I love exercising. Doing the at home DVDs and running help clear my mind and gives me a sense of peace and pride in my body.

I'm not doing this for anyone else or to be skinny or to show off or to put anyone down by my accomplishments.

I'm doing this to be strong, happy and confident in myself.

Every woman deserves that.

Mom Bubble

I used to feel so trapped. Trapped in my own little bubble I created all on my own. "I'm just a mom" I used to tell myself. I had no passions or hobbies. I let myself sink into this mindless role of taking care of everyone else but myself. Now, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being a mom, I love being able to stay home with my kids, they are the biggest blessing in my life next to my husband and I wouldn't change it for the world but in the process, I lost who I was as an individual.

That is scary.

When someone asks you what you like to do and all you can think of is "play with my kids" or "go outside". Those questions used to scare me. It felt like I was nothing but a mother which I great but who was I outside of them?

I had no idea.

So when I started this little business I slowly started to rediscover myself. Over the past 6 months I've learned things about myself that I never knew before. It has been amazing. To have something for myself again besides my family has given me a whole new purpose and reason to strive to be the best I can be.

I know what it feels like to be a stay at home mom, I know the time restraints and the days just seems to wiz by in one big blur. I also know how it feels to not have anything for YOU and I want to help.

So I am going to mentor 5 women who are looking for something more in their life. Who are ready to make a change, to earn some extra income while helping others around you. I will give you all the tools you need to succeed. All you need is drive, motivation, be coachable and ready to make a change.

Happy Monday!!

There are FOUR pretty simple rules to starting and continuing a workout routine.

Number ONE is to
       NEVER MISS A MONDAY!

By exercising every Monday you set yourself up for a better day and week. Your workout schedule can be set and you KNOW the next time you need to get movin'. You also create a habit that will keep you on the right track!

Have a NO EXCUSE Monday and get your workout DONE! Whether you walk a mile, run four, lift weights, do ten jumping jacks-- just DO something!

Anything is better than nothing.

Friday Night Run

Its Friday night, the Hubby just got home from work, and I had an itch to go running. I was feeling great and didn't get in my T25 workout like I had originally planned. So I decided I would have enough time to get in a 3.2 mile run (I'm going to run at least 3.2 each time so my 5K time will get better) before it got dark. It was about 5:30 pm and super cloudy as it had rained all day. Still I went for it. I was TOTALLY wrong about it not getting dark. About half way I realized there was no way I'd make it home. The approaching darkness definitely helped me run harder I can tell you that!! Our neighborhood isn't well lit and its a little creepy running alone in a new neighborhood.

On top of the dark I made a quick decision to go down another street. There were tons of Christmas lights that made the homes look beautiful so I took it. So here I was lost in my new neighborhood in the dark. I found a way to cut back to the main street by a drainage thing (lol I have no idea what you call those things!). I hopped on the phone with a friend so at least I could listen to her chat. Best idea ever!

The plus side of wanting to get home as fast as I could was that I pushed harder than I ever have. Also by running down a wrong street I added some distance onto my run. Overall my splits were the best I've ever had for that distance of run so I'm happy I went but I probably won't ever cut it that close again :)

Once I got home I was relieved. My body was feeling great and still on the running high but I knew that I needed to stretch. I'm always so sore after a run and I wanted to make sure to give my muscles a good stretch. I got out my mat and started. Of course my babies joined in. I have to say its absolutely adorable when my son crawls under to give me a kiss. Aw makes my heart melt!

One stretch I discovered from PiYo is called the Pigeon. Its a stretch where your leg is bent ahead of you while the other is extended fully backwards. This stretches needs to be gotten into correctly so here is how I do it. I start off in a plank position, move to down dog and then bring one of my legs through my arms and sit down on my butt. This move can get a little difficult if you aren't flexible so take it slow and don't push yourself too much! I hold the pose for 30 seconds and go back into down dog. Repeat with the other leg.

Next time you workout, go for a run or even just need a good stretch try this one out! Its awesome and totally stretches you out!

Your Dream is Worth it.

Have you ever had a dream or a goal in life that you felt so strongly about but it all faded in an instant? Maybe someone shot down your idea, you hit a bump in the road and decided it wasn't for you, or maybe you just lacked the confidence to follow through with it. There is a reason why you had that dream or goal in the first place. It was put in your heart so it could be fulfilled. Do not let someone deter you from it. Block out those negative opinions of others. No one needs to see the vision but you and when you do succeed they will see it and realize why you fought for it.

People are wildly successful at the things they love so why can't you? WHY couldn't you be that person? All it takes in consistency, persistence and hard work. Start small and enjoy the every day so called "boring" activities that will get you closer to your dream. The time will pass no matter what you do. Why not work towards your dream?

You don't have to struggle...

**
I've learned a lot over the past few days. I've learned that it's SO easy to be happy and motivated one day all to have it completely different the next. I've been in a slump of bad moods, lacking of energy and letting other people effect my self worth and confidence. I wasn't being the mom, wife and person I am striving to be. It was time for me to step up and get back to what I knew would help me.

The thing is-- the more negative you are the more you will hate life. Once you let that negative creep in, you have to pull yourself out or it will bring you down.

My plan is pretty simple. Work on myself by exercising daily, eating clean, reading personal development and constantly feeding my mind and soul is positive affirmations.

I really don't like sharing my struggles publicly. We all like to hide behind our computers and put on a good face but sometimes it's worth going out of your comfort zone. If I can help just ONE person from this, it will all be worth it.

I will tell you that it is not easy; there will be ups and downs but it's the best thing you can do for yourself. If you want to join me and think this group is something you would benefit from, I urge you to message me for more details.

If you want to make a change in your life but unsure how to do it.
If you feel trapped in a spiral of negative thinking, bad food, and lack of motivation.
If you want someone to coach with your health and fitness while working on improving your mindset.

THEN THIS IS FOR YOU.

I know it's hard making a change and stepping out of your comfort zone, but this is life changing if you just give it a shot.

Priorities...

I know it's not easy.

Its not easy for me to make time to workout but I do because I've made it priority in my life. I actively try to create and look for times when my kids are happy to play together so I can concentrate on me for a second.

I know that between keeping up with the house, raising kids and working on this business I'm creating for myself that I will have to sacrifice somethings in order to get everything done. And you know what-- many times things don't get done. I'm not perfect and never will be.

But one thing I'm never willing to sacrifice is my family. They will always be my number one priority. So instead of reading a book or watching my favorite TV show or taking a nap-- I work on myself. That is were my priorities comes into play.

Now I'm not saying all this to make you feel bad. I want to give you hope that it is possible. That I understand and want to help you find ways to work on your health while making it work for you and your family. Everyone deserves to be happy and healthy. Not just for them but for their family as well.

Message me if you are willing to try, I know it's not easy but it will be worth it.

Are your needs met?!

When I woke up this morning my plan was to read 15 minutes in my personal development book then workout. Needless to say, that didn't happen. I got so caught up in this new book that I just couldn't stop reading!

One of the things that stuck out to me in this book, Fearless & Fabulous by Cara Awill Leyba, was this notion of unfulfilled needs. I think this is totally true for everyone, especially moms. I know when my needs aren't fulfilled I am a mess. My mind is scattered an...d I'm not reacting to situations the way I should. When I do things that make me happy and bring me joy; I FEEL differently and everyone around me can tell.

As moms, it's so important to feed your soul things that make you happy so you can pass it on to your kids. Yes, we are here to taking care and nurture them but there is no reason why we shouldn't take care of ourselves too. Our health, mental and physical, is just has important as theirs.
Do yourself a favor and take 30 minutes a day to focus on YOU. Maybe it's before everyone wakes up in the morning or during nap time. Whenever it is, forget about the house chores, the kids, or the unpaid bills and focus on you. Read a book, workout, write in a journal. Something-- ANYTHING that makes you happy. You deserve it.

Someday.

Today while reading my personal development I came across a very eye opening message about the idea of "someday, I will..." It hit a cord with me so deeply that I thought I'd share a little of it with you. It goes like this...

**
"Some day my prince will come..." Good old Walt Disney. Well, that may have worked out for Snow White. Back here on Earth, it's a recipe for disappointment. In flesh-and-blood life, waiting for "someday" is no strategy for success, it's a cop out. What's more, it's one that the majority follow their whole lives.

Someday, when my ship comes in...
Someday, when I have the money...
Someday, when I have the time...
Someday, when I have the skill...
Someday, when I have the confidence...

How many of those statements have you said to yourself? I've got some sobering news for you: "some day" doesn't exist, never has, and never will. There is no "some day." There's only TODAY."

-Jeff Olson (The Slight Edge)
**

After reading that passage I thought about how many times I've put things off or thought "when I have the money" or "when I have a plan". Do you want to guess how many of those things I have actually accomplished in my life? NONE. That's right. I have never gone back. I have never been READY for those things. It's not because I'm too poor or don't have a plan its because I'm scared to take that leap of faith.

Here's some tough love for you on this Sunday and I know its not easy to hear. I feel the same way but nothing can change unless you are willing to stop saying someday and start saying TODAY.

Your MILLION DOLLAR IDEA...

How many times have you come up with an idea but ignored it because others thought it was "stupid"?

At a conference that my husband attended the guest speaker spoke about exactly that. It all started when one of the brothers was hanging out at a bar with his friends. The song "I'm sexy and I know it" came over the speakers and he started to freestyle it into "I'm farming and I grow it". Thinking it was a great idea, he went home to tell his brothers of his idea. Only his brothers were less excited about it and thought it was stupid, but he wouldn't hear it. He made them do the video with him and within 2 weeks that video was viewed 6 million times!! The Peterson Farm Bros have gone on to make many other parodies that all talk about their life as a farmer. They have attracted so much attention that they get to travel all over the WORLD talking about agriculture and spreading awareness for how important farmers are.

In the beginning, the brothers idea may have sounded incredibly stupid but he must have had a gut feeling that this was a GOOD idea. Only he saw the vision and in the end, that "stupid" idea was a HUGE success!

So I'll ask you again. How many times are you doing to let other people shoot down your ideas? Your goals? Your dreams?

Don't let your fear hold you back from something great. Those people don't need to see your idea in order for it to be a success. Put yourself out there and show the world who you are and what you care about. Remove your fears and go for it.

It may just be YOUR million dollar idea.
